Sticking occurs when the heat used is too hot. Our technology allows our cookware to heat up much faster then normal cookware. So, we find that customers tend to cook on too high of heat. We recommend starting on medium-low heat with a little bit of oil.
LOW HEAT is key! Our technology allows our cookware to heat up much faster and distribute heat much more evenly than most cookware. Sticking almost always occurs when the heat is too high. We recommend cooking things like eggs on medium-low. Keep in mind, our pans do require a little bit of oil since they are hybrid pans.
As with most fine cookware, HexClad cookware should be seasoned before the first use. You do not need to season your pans before every use. To season your pans properly:
- Heat your pan on medium-low
- Spread 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil around the interior of the pan
- Leave your pan on heat for 1-2 minutes
- Now you're ready to cook
Simple as that! Over the first few weeks of use, your HexClad Hybrid cookware will perform better and better as it re-seasons itself on its own from the fats in the food you are cooking.
